“The Tower” is the winning installation of Inyyan 2020, developed as a group project by Club IO, where I worked as the batch coordinator. The concept is based on growing towers, expressing vertical expansion and visual progression.The pavilion is constructed using plywood and polyfoam. The initial idea was a tower with a glowing head. Finding a suitable translucent material for the head took time, and the final choice was polyfoam. The project was executed in two stages: pre-production and production. During pre-production, we focused on modelling and material exploration. 16 mm plywood was selected as the primary structural material.During production, the structure was built in three parts: base, middle section, and head. The total height of each plywood unit is 2.4 m, with the column divided into two segments one forming the middle portion and the other connecting to the translucent head element.
